He told me that he did not like another shipper because they pulled the forks down all the way and blew the seals, so I went with Keyboard like he recommended. He also sent me this video. Sean has been a very trust worthy seller to me so far.
Beautiful bike 👍. Nice find.
I'd have no problem with how it's tied down.
The lower triple tree is fine to use as long as you only partially compress the forks and use tie downs that have hooks with spring loaded gates that will keep them from bouncing loose.
I also like how their rack allows them to run a strap through the back wheel and pulls down and forward.
hi Ken congratulations !
first off they might have disconnected the ground cable under the seat to prevent any issues during transport ! check their first, if thats not the issue let us know ! we'll get ya there ! no worries !
When I hit the start button I hear a very light click under the battery area. After a few tries it started working. It needs something though. This bike will need some sorting but I am off to a good start I think.
sounds like you need to check your starter relay connections under the battery tray, i would also check the starter button wiring at the handle bar switch to make sure the wires are not pinched & that you have power going "to" the starter button & power going "from" the button & then check to make sure the full voltage is reaching the starter relay.
hi Ken,
in your video "pre-delivery" your idle is a little high, either the throttle cables need adjustment or the idle screw on the left side of the carb needs to be turned out a little , i would check both of these before just tearing into the carb, it may run just fine without having to re-build it ! start your bike & with it running loosen the pull side of the throttle cable to see if the idle slows down ,could be that its adjusted to tight & the return spring cant return the throttle back to a normal idle, then if it still idles high turn the throttle adjustment screw on the left side of the carb out a little to lower the idle speed rpm to around 950 . . . tip, if the mixture screw is still sealed DONT open it ! you have nothing to gain by doing so ! these carbs are set for the best performance from the factory & has no affect on the idle rpms any way ! good luck, keep us posted !

It is a myth that strapping the forks down blows the seals, it is against the laws of physics and if it were true then your fork seals would only last about a month in normal use. I had a Twin Cam delivered from Florida that went all the way across the USA and then on a ship to New Zealand with the forks strapped down to the max...fork seals were still good 5 years later when I sold the bike.
If the seals were already shot then you would see some oil on them after strapping down but that is only because they were shot...you see, oil pressure cannot blunt the sharp tip of the oil seal, only age and dirt can do that.
I was wiping my hand on the rear shock springs and they are oily so I am guessing the rear shocks are probably shot. Glad I picked up an NOS set and have them ready to go. I will be checking the neck bearings and rebuilding the front forks also. I also found that the front rotors are drilled after market, found NOS rotors.
