After 50 years of riding panheads, shovelheads, evos and twinkies, I sold off my small motorcycle collection. Health conditions make it very difficult to ride any more, although I still have a 2005 FLSTC for the occasional putt.
My favorite bike was the one pictured.... a 1972 FLH in original paint 'sparkling burgundy'. 27K original miles, never opened up, rode like new. Other than the front brake caliper and maintenance items, it was pretty much the way it left the factory. After sitting 6 months, I started it yesterday without the choke and it it didn't sump a drop of oil. Sometimes you get a good one. I've probably owned a dozen shovels over the years. This was one sweet bike.

Sold the bike on ebay and the shipper came by yesterday to pick it up. I shall truly miss her..... "Miss Piggy" as my wife so appropriately named.
Time to turn the page.

In the driveway for the last time.

Yeah I know the mirrors are turned in - for good reason.

Yeah exactly -- it's like work--I tell people one day you wake up and know you just can't do it anymore
you'll miss them from time to time. When you do answer a question on the forum
thanks for the auxiliary spring help

That’s too bad Mr. Precision, although understood. We’ll all reach that point at some time. My wife tells me that when I go, she’s having the biggest garage sale on record. Better to deal with it like you have so our babies go to a good home.

There's no way that bike runs, everyone knows the AMF era bikes needed rebuilt at 3,000 miles.
Just kidding. Beautiful bike. Hopefully the next owner keeps this one as clean and original as you have.

Ha!! AMF. I've had two AMF era FLH's and both were reliable, relatively leak free, and well assembled. This one was a keeper until I got ill. I didn't want the wife to deal with the motorcycles and cars if things got worse...... so I sold most of them. Thanks for the comments.

In my shop.

Original paint... pretty nice

Cruising at 60 MPH. Sweet spot on this bike.
