Hi what are the most important differences of the clutch hub with 5 stud vs 3 stud?
On the advice of friends I had changed my clutch hub from 3 stud to 5 stud over 10 years ago, as soon as I bought the shovel, so I've always had the 5 stud.
I broke a stud, I would like to change it.
Who can explain me how to do it?
Or do I put the clutch hub back together with 3 studs?
No Measurable difference... the 5 stud Looks Cool exposed!! I feel that the 3 stud may actually be Superior in operation..
Yes...I have Both!!
One more Solution to a Pre-conceived Problem... that does Not exist!!
the studs are easy to simply knockor press put & a new one pushed in and Peened over or hit wiha TIG welder,
That stops them coming lose but make it harder to change in the future,I run a 10 stud Hub and found it wasier to set an even lift & a lot less unwanted drag with them

agreed
had 5 stud on my 52 panshovel
friend let me try oe 3 stud on it
world of diffs, was surprised would be understatement
5 does look better tho
i actually found that by loosenig the adjusting nuts 1 turn to what the manual says makes the clutch feel better to operate
Hell....Go 2!!! Mine slips when I do that tho...
The difference is...I believe... That the Pressure Plate actually releases more Evenly with the 3 stud, and even Better with the Aluminum pressure plate... Only the Aluminum Plate with Steel insert Threads... due diligence...
Oh...and the Ram Jett retainer???? One Upgrade that actually Works... almost a necessity with a Belt drive!!!
