Default Kicker arm

Which kicker arm is off set outwards the most. The one on my bike is the pedal (lolly pop) style and it hits the exhaust a little and I think it is a re pop. It is an after market exhaust. Even though I have electric start I still want a functioning kicker.

It is the wrong style for the bike but is what it came with. There are a couple of swing out arms (instead of a swing out pedal) that may provide more clearance? Or is one made by after market to provide more clearance? I have been looking around and have not seen one yet.

Actually...the late model hinge at the Shaft sticks out past exhaust the very best.. the old Style (pedal folds) are a PITA... I still use 'em, because they are correct... with the correct exhaust!!
BTW... I have Never folded the "lollypop" style...never.
That bike above... probably Needs a Later (fold at shaft) kicker...or...exhaust that is For the Old Kicker..

These are the 2 of the fold at the shaft (later) that I have seen and my bike should have this style. With these 2 different parts that go on the transmission does one stick out further? They also index on the transmission differently.

That exhaust that I have was right up to the rear master cylinder and I moved it 3/16 away from it and would even like to go more if I can. The pipe was touching one of the mounting bolts of the rear master cylinder and transferring some heat I believe. The only way I will change the exhaust is if I find an original.

A view of the 2 later style of how they fit the transmission. In the same order as above. Does any one know if one of these 2 swings out a little further?

My 82 wideglide has the swing out kicker and I like it. It swings out far and tucks in tight when not in use. I have a spare I've debated putting on my FX because the correct kicker is in the way of my leg all the time.

I have the oposite problem on my 78 Shovel,
I have the Swing out kicker and it clears the pipes well, but due to me having 2 screwed up hips & a crocked knee, I cannot ride my Shovel with the kicker on it as it sticks out too far for me to get my leg on the floor without the kicker jamming painfully into my knee,
so what I will be doing next Tuesday is using a buddies Oxy Acet torch and will be putting an 'S' bend in the kicker shaft, to bring the pedal inboard about another 2inches,
being a swing out, it wont effect the pipe clearence but will give my leg plenty of room without being painful...

I loosened it at the cylinder, moved the mounting bracket out a bit and tightened it there. The bolt hole in the pipe is slotted a little so the pipe can swing in or out... Actually I took my sledge hammer and beat on the cylinder head until the pipe moved, I am a master mechanic. lol

So i guess no one knows if there is a difference in how far the these two different late style arms stick out ?
