I passed on a 1968 Shelby GT 500 for $1,600.00 back in 1976. I had the money in my pocket, but already had a 1969 Mach 1 with a 428. My Mach 1 was almost the same as the Shelby was about the same....sure...duh...big mistake!!
When I was 19 I heard of a 1960 corvette with the hardtop for $600 and I was the last to know because the engine was sitting on the ground next t to it. Yea, I bought it and did a ground up restoration on it. When I was 15 I heard of a "'64 GTO for a $100 and bought that too. Sold that to get the vette.
Located in Waterbury at Docs MC. The Indy I use. This was Restored from original 71 parts by the old man, current owners father..family business since 1969. He actually rescued the rear section from a guy who was taking it to the dump😳 Doc senior threw the guy a $100 for it. Showroom is eye candy - lots of beautiful old and rare motorcycles on display. If In the area its great place to stop have a look.
Started as a 71 fx
$1500
the changes I made are obvious but I'd take it back any day
young and stupid
Titled as a 72 FLH, started life with me as a bare frame, a motor and pile of dirty crates at a swapmeet for $1200. Fast forward 41 years, there is no going back to stock
Saw a shovel head out in the wild the other day, I was surprised. He was riding kind of hard for as heavy as the traffic was. There are a lot of Harley's in the area that I live in and the dealer that is near me as a few pan heads an shovels on display. What make pipes are those TB.
