Description
This is an original paint 1971 Harley-Davidson FX Superglide. This is the first year for the iconic Superglide which is still in production today. 44 years later. Most 1971 FX's were painted white with the red and blue decals. The paint job was called Sparkling America by the HD factory. Very few of these bikes were painted the remaining 7 other available colors. I would presume very few of this were Sparkling Green. I have only seen one other of these in original paint in the flesh and a picture of one other. What I'm saying is that this bike in original paint Sparkling Green is extremely rare. I would bet you have never seen one and most likely will never again. To find a 1971 FX Superglide in any color original paint is very rare since most were chopped and painted right off the showroom floor. Some dealers even removed the fiberglass boattail fender and seat when the bikes were new. This bike survived the chopper era! I got the bike from the original owner in upstate NY about a year and a half ago. He got the bike in the summer of 1971 in Glens Falls. NY as a high school graduation gift. The only thing changed was the tires and I got them from the original owner. too. They go with the bike. This is your chance to own an all original first year HD Superglide. Dont miss out!The bike runs great. I rode it a few miles around the neighborhood last summer. Call for all the details. More pics available. The bike is also for sale locally.
