Cheap ultraprocessed food wasn't a thing back then, people were a lot thinner.

It was Called a Buddy Seat, because that is what it was designed to Be!
Only True Choppers, had a seat (of sorts) sitting on the Frame. Back when New. ****, Got me sitting here wondering..the original SuperGlide was Probably the First frame mount seat on a Shovelhead!!! Since it basically Copied Sportster design Cues!

I grew up on Buddy Seats. Dad and his brothers all had dressers with the larger Buddy Seat. Back in the 60's all the chopped dressers used what they called a King & Queen seat. Basically the King sat low on top of the oil tank and the Queen sat high on top of the rear fender. Some were an exaggerated step up to the Queen seat with a back pad going up the sissy bar.

I believe ***** G played off those early King & Queen Seat designs for the 1st Superglides after the original Boat tails.
