Default Bead braking is the my biggest hurdle with tires

I would do one at a time. Dropping a bike sucks. If you are doing the tires yourself, bead breaking is tough. I have a bead buddy but before that I used a floor jack, a 4x4 and the bumper of my pickup. More work to break the bead than anything else.

Your jack will work fine if you strap it securely. I find the jack works better than the lift when removing tires or working on the front end. Had this bike on the jack for a couple of weeks.

I only take off one tire at a time. When I get the bike up high enough, I have a homemade rest for the opposite tire. I'll ease the bike down a little so the other tire just sits on it. Makes the bike steadier. I also have a jack/dolly combo for my ironhead. I raise the bike up and wheel the dolly underneath, then let it down on the dolly and move the jack out of the way. Makes moving the bike around real easy. Anyway, that's not helping you at all.

Changing tires is a lot of work. I wouldn't want to do two at a time. I take one day to remove the tire and service the bearings. The next day I mount the new one, reinstall, then service the brakes.

My Sportster on the same jack and strapped down...though I really like the DIY dolly above, I need to make one that will work for both my HD's.

If I bring in the bike, removing and reinstalling both tires I'm sure has to be around $200.
1hr labor is $125-$150 I believe.
-But I'm doing this myself more for the learning experience rather then saving money.
.I've got a broken spoke on the front rim that needs replacing also.

With these old bikes, I wouldn’t trust any shop to take off the wheels. I remove the wheels and take them to the shop to mount and balance new tires. They charge $35/ wheel. Not worth messing with at that price IMHO.

I hear ya!
Wow........$35 per!
And I was happy when I heard $60!!
But yeah........its really hard to find anyone that can wrench the older bikes.
Im luck to have an older exHarley tech that does it all....EXCEPT TIRES!!
Anyway.........should wheel bearings automatically be changed?
I guess I should seeing as how those rims have been on for at least 25 years!
