Is it normal to have air trying to escape from the fuel tank cap when trying to kick it over? I have a bayonet style tank and I can hear air pressure hissing when I try to kick it over.
every bike i have owned will hiss out the vent when i first get on the bike and move the bike up off the stand,
in warm weather more so, as the gas slightly expands due to the heat of the tank when moved, dont worry,..
Cap came with the tank - yes. It's vented. Figured the hissing is just venting and I can get it to vent just by sloshing the gas around in the tank.
I was able to get it running after some playing with the Dyna2000 ignition and swapping the plugs for some Autolites. It's still very stiff on the compression stroke but I at least get it to fire - I just have to figure out what it likes now for the startup because it still takes about 5 minutes to kick over.
