Battery
bought my shovel in 2017 had a motobat agm battery and replaced it in 2024....7 years ......dont worry i was amazed too.......i'll let you know how long the replacement motobat lasts, i have my doubts
I've never had a problem with leaving a tender on an AGM battery 24/7 in storage. But as they say in the stock market, past performance does not guarantee future returns.
what i usually do is every 2 weeks is top up the charge on both batteries about half a day charge on each battery
I've had two SSB AGM's in my Evo in 4 years. I've changed to Motobat. Had one in the Rhonda for 8 years. I won't touch a Li battery. Put two in Jacks, only lasted a few months each. They don't like vibes.
Cheers
Hey guys great information. Thanks fir all your inputs. Battery's are sure an issue. Ya that vibration is sure is a factor when it comes to the Schovel head FLH. Even my Duoglide I owned for over seven years, only kick start I ever owned. Sold it to buy my 1978. Just because the price was right. I.looked for the combo kick, electric. Man several were on the market as I recall. But several were out of my price range and most all were choppers, not dressers. Seems all.the parts were kinda high. After much thought I could have saved alot by just converting my Duoglide to a kick, electric start. Really should have done that. Tho I can do a kick on my 1978. It was an option in 1978. Been looking at that. About $12,000. That's the highest I seen that's with a tyranny overhaul. A guy In West Fort Worth can beat that price, AJ
