what was the reasoning for the Police bike to have a tank shift?
The Authorities thought that us young guys wouldn't know how to ride a Tank Shift, hence we wouldn't be able to steal them and take them out for a Joy Ride. They were Wrong!!!
Any other sticker guys around that did not have what i needed
Look on line and you will find there are a number of them. A sign shop could do it also, looks like what you need is simple. I had some made for one of my projects but that shop is in Canada, you know the rest of the story.
I was drinking coffee with a guy fifteen years my senior at “bikes n coffee” this morning, who is originally from Baltimore. In fact, that’s his nickname. He’s in his mid 80’s, still riding a Road Glide, but started out on a knucklehead. Anyway, I was telling him about the project the OP is working on, and wondering why Baltimore PD ordered those bikes with tank shifters.
He said it was because of the rider fatigue of holding the clutch lever on the heavier clutch of those shovelheads, in traffic.
I can neither confirm or deny the accuracy of that statement, but it made sense.

I can confirm that a proper rocker foot clutch is a pleasure in traffic VS a hand clutch, so it could be a true story.
