That's only an issue if you have one of those in-line filters between the cylinders, toss it so. Check to see if you are still getting spark when she's hot. Coils will do that or something losing contact like a weak circuit breaker. Chased that gremlin 1/2 day on a road trip one year.
I also had to Learn about inline Filters, the Hard Way!!
Maybe Ive just been lucky but Ive run in line filters on my bikes for years with no issues. Ive asked this before but what is the downside of running one.
Hmm, I didnt already have time to check if it has maybe an intake leak. But, a few days ago i checked the spark when warm and i noticed it wasnt always visible, if my memory is correct will check it. I will check if theres a difference in the spark between cold and warm.
dont have an inlone filter. Just a fuel line with an insulator around it, its between the cylinders
i do have 1 fuse on the bike which has blown a few times past couple of years. But than the complete bike is shut off, replace the fuse and done.

Next time you go out for a good ride and use her pretty good, get it hot then look at the little filter, it's one of those glas ones you'll see it just bubbling away inside, screws with the fuel flow badly on machines that need steady volume fuel flow.. In tank screen does the job just fine.
Tried new plugs and had a ride today. Problem still there. Did some tests and noticed it does start when hot if i remove the airfilter (s&s teardrop). When i installed the filter again, it didnt start. So removed it, and it starts within 1 kick (or a few, but it starts).
So, i was thinking the filter blocks something, but I dont know what. Or could it be just a dirty carburetor? S&S super E. Got an original filter.

You may have other things going on and assuming it's still points ignition, sounds like a weak condenser.
East check - put any condenser you can find (temporarily) with the wire connected at the points post on the coil and ground the body any way you can.

It will start and Idle with No Condenser...and again...I have Never witnessed a Shorted Condenser...Only Open..which will run exactly like No Condenser... The "Dosent Start when Hot"... says.. coil or EI pick-up..if ignition related..I still think fuel delivery,.. External filter, or no Vent.... Or Mixing,.. Carb too Lean or too Hot or Both.. problem!! even possible the intake clamps are too tight, and/or leaking when hot/expanded..
