She'za beauty! A little over dressed perhaps, but a real looker.

Don't know anything about registering a bike in NY. Perhaps others on this board might. Also, sounds like this post is a follow-up to a previous post.you'd started. You might want to start a new post with a topic heading that would attract a more appropriate response; i.e.: "Registering a bike in NY" This should get some responses from riders/readers knowable onthe subject. Also, do you know, or have youcheck on what it willtake to import and register a bike in Italy -any import duties?

Anyway, you'll have one helluva head-turner in good ol' Italia!

I love the looks of thegenerator shovels, especially that slab-side timing cover. One of my very first hogs wasa '68 FL. Had built her from the ground up. Had to part with her back in '88. Wish I'd kept her, but needed to raise cash to buy a house...man, was my priorities screwed up back then! LOL

Enjoy the ride. She'd be sweet!

Sweet! Not too many unmolested units like that left. Shovels4ever's suggestion about reposting was a ggod one, but you might want to post it on the Touring forum. Lot's more traffic there.

I bought my 69 FLH with very similar "extras". The old geezers must of had very similar tastes. I took all the extra lights and bric a brac off, back to original HD way. Nice bike!!

My daddy had a 68 police bike that looked alot like that one. He rode with the Shriners trick riding outfit, whatever they called it.I used to sit on that sucker in the garage ant pretend I was chasing bad hombres. Whenever I talk to my old man about that old bike he gets real sad and tells me how he regrets selling it for 1500 bucks and how 68 was the last year harley ever made a bike (AMF hater).
Anyhow, no point to my post and Ive no clue about New York or Italy....but nice bike.

A '68 in NY is not a title bike, it is bought and sold with a "transferable registration" Titles didn't start in NY 'til '73. If you have a valid reg. or title from another state it is a simple matter of producing proof of ins. and filling out the paper work. No title or reg.? then they will ask you to make a tracing of the VIN on theleft engine case or sometimes a close up photo. The DMV office will give you a registration, and a plate and then Albany will send you the Historical plate in the mail. In the case of not having a reg. the will give you a "non-transferable registration" and then after they check the numbers in Albany then they will send you the transferable registration and historical plate. They will NOT give you a NY title which sometimes is a problem in other states when trying to register or sell. I don't know about Italy. I did a '66 and '67 going the tracing route with no problems.
