the one and only !
I write from Paris, France, so please excuse my bad English...
I 've been reading you for a while, and I would like to join you here.
I bought my first Harley 3 years ago - I allways wanted the FLH with the Shovelhead engine, but as I was totally new on "Planet Harley", I was a bit afraid to start with an old bike. So I owned some Sportsters first...

One year ago, I foundthis 1984 FLH in Germany, wich was quite clean and almost original. It has had one owner who did 17K miles with it and wanted to change for a new Street Glide. Lucky me !
The bike is what we call "in its juice" - clean, but not restored, quite a beatiful daily driver, complete and original. The only "upgrade" the first owner did was the S&S ccarburetor.
I removed the tour pack and the windshield, but I want to keep it as close to origin as possible - it would be a pity to chop or to bob a bike like this one, right ?
It runs great, no problems at all, and I'm reallyloving it !

Just added the finned primary cover, wich looks great with this bike, doesn't it ?

Your English is just fine...better than some of the people who were born here! LOL
That's is one sweet FLH! Since the bike is relatively unmolested, yes, you should keep her as near original as possible. But if you do decide toswap out some OEMparts, make sure you save them for posterity, and not sell them on Ebay. LOL. Should you change your mind later on, you can always put the old parts back, and not have to hunt for replacements, which for an older bike, original parts arefast becomingfar and few in between!
Viva La France! Viva La Soixante-neuf!
