Default Rubber Mount Shovel??

I've had a few people mention this so I figured I would throw it out there. I was just curious if anybody has even put rubber mounts or just put any rubber on the frame where their engine mounts to kill some of the vibration!?!? I don't have a problem with it for shorter rides but if I start riding longer distances it may get difficult, plus I can't even see out of my mirros after 60MPH. Any thoughts??!?!?!

There's a lot more to it than just rubber pads. I had an '80 FLT with rubber mounted eng/trans. Trans and engine are bolted together, the rear mount is at the swingarm pivot, the front is on a rubber donut mount and a heim jounted stabilizer mounts at the top, another at the front mount.
I've never seen one converted from rigid to rubber mount. The FXRs are rubber mounted too.

I don't know about rubber motor mounts, to cut vibration

to the mirrors and your feet. I do have one suggestion that

worked well for saving my ****. I had a 1988 Sportster first year

they came out with 1200 cc. Vibration through the seat was

bad. I pulled the vinyl up, and put extra foam in the seat.

I also lined the under side of the seat, where it rests on

the frame. With foam rubber seal, for the bottom of a

wood garage door. This is a very inexpensive fix and

worked great. If you put the round **** on the outside

of the seat, it actually looks like it belongs there. Get the

sponge rubber type. After I put the rubber seal on. I rode

thousands of miles at 60 to 70 Seat vibration was cut by

at least 50% Boots and foam rubber foot pegs helped

my feet. The mirrors vibrating I just got used to.

LOL at 80 mph both mirrors flipped up, and I could not

see with them.

Don't put anything between the frame and the engine to try to isolate the engine vibs. YouWILL break something right quick. You should get a manual and shim theengineproperly and then align the engine / trans as close as possible. I have Balance Masters on my FLH. I have heard that a Barsnake helps to. Other than that you can get something else for the long haul or just back off when the mirrors start to twirl and your feet buzz off the pegs. LOL BTW I have put loads of big mile trips on my '84. It's rougher on you than a rubber mount but what a way to travel!
