hey guys i have oil breathing all over my back wheel even though i use a breather gets everywhere. so i have been consittering an engine breather oil collecter. small can with a breather on the top. can anyone that uses one write back and tell me there experiences with thiers. the one im looking at is at East Bay Thunder # 21-359 or # 21-360 thank guys
I've never used one myself, but one of my freinds does and he likes it. I just let my breather hang. It usually spits out justlittle oil at startup and then stops. Once in a while the check ball hangs and it'll leave me a small puddle after being parked, but even then spits just a little out at startup then quits. You may need to replace the spring or check ball in your crankcase breather setup.
I have one on my shovel and after it gets 3 or more drops of oil it starts tofog a fine mist all over my pipes where it burns and sticks to them . They cost alot of money and don't work very well. I am going to vent to my air cleaner after or thru the trap this should work I got mine thru JIP cycles.
I did mine cheap. I just got a 45 degree plug wire boot and stuck it on the nipple kind of pointing towards the chain. Keeps my chain oiled and keeps it off my oil tank ;-)
I have had REALLY good success with this unit. http://www.jpcycles.com/productgroup...ley&page=3
Running one on the pan, and my shovel. Cut the problem down to zero, or really close. Basically just keeps from sucking air into the crankcase on the "up" stroke. I pull mine off when I see a li'l oil build up (usually weeks) and just spray Gunk inside it, rinse with hot h2o, reinstall and go. Have put them on 93"ers. There are other ones out there for like $139 and more, but these have worked just fine. Only time they haven't worked decent, is if you have a lot of blow by, read that, worn out motor. For $30, it is a cheap fix.
