Wondering if anyone is running an oil breather and oil trap on their shovel from the primary breather? If so whats worked well for you product wise? Alternative is venting into the carb but not sure I want to go to this method unless breather/trap method is less than satisfactory. Any ideas would be great. Thanks Bill

I've got mine to a breather/filter that hose clamps to the tube under the engine. This mostly cuts the sound of the air going in and out and nothing too big can go back up. Not much oil comes out.

Thanks guys. I have mine running to the rear changed it away from the chain as have a new O-ring chain so less oiling needed. It doesn't drop much oil other than after a long ride or when its sat for a few weeks. But as per Murphys law what oil comes out seems to get onto the exhaust pipes so I've ruined one side. If anyone else is using a breather and catch can would like to know what type, I have a breather on it now but doesn't stop the oil drip... Thanks Bill

If ya route it to the carb, then it will run all over the engine. I routed mine to dump on the ground back by the tranny. A little gets on the tire, but unless you have a bad blow by problem, it's no big deal.
I've heard that o-ring chains don't like the acids from engine blow-by oil.

Back in the day, well during WW2 anyway, riders had chains soaking in a drum of oil and when one started to kink up you'd trade it for one from the drum and put it on leaving the other in the oil. They had to do this cause of war time material shortages. Those chains could wrap around a pole sideways by the time they'd be totally useless. And, of course, the bike covered in oil. Ain't ya glad we ain't there yet?
