Another tip.

Points and condenser from an early '60's Chevy six cylinder will work if your are still running points and condensers in your Shovels. It used to be that every podunk auto parts store had them on their shelf so if you were broke down ANYWHERE, you could get up and running again. I'm sure most auto parts stores still carry them but with the advent of electronic ignitions, they might be fewer and farther apart.

Plugs:

'48 -'74
Champion - J12YC
H-D - 2,3,3-4,4,5

'75 - '78E
Champion - N12YC, RN12YC
H-D - 5-6, 5A6, 5R6, 5RL, 5A6A, 5R6A

'78L - '84
Champion - RN12YC
H-D - 5R6A

'84 up (Evo)
Champion - RN12YC
H-D - 5R6A

Plug gap:

'70 through '78 - .028" to .033"
'79 through '83 - .038" to .043"
