HELP with service
Could anyone please tell me what goes on with a 40,000 service? My riding buddy, in bad financial shape at the moment and I rode to the local HD shop to check on his upcoming service. They told him it would cost him $550 plus tax and "parts if needed" and at this time he cannot afford that! Does anyone know what goes on with this service? I want to help him out and do it for him JUST FOR PARTS and MATERIALS no labor... He rides a 2003 FXST - stock everything but exhaust...

I think you may have this in th wrong place. \\; However, your buddy should go online to J&\\;P Cycles and order the 03 Harley service manual for the softails. \\; It will give the scheldue, but will also give good instuctions on how to do the work. \\; The manuals cost about $50-$60, you could also try ebay to see if someone has a used manuel for sale.
