Thanks for the help. HD is going to stand behind parts and labor. The man that did the work did not know about the short screw. He also did not know you could adjust the belt. He was working off a manual that did not cover the FXDG or other Primary belt. I told him he could borrow mine so hopefully we will get it right this time. If I get stranded again I will lose my mind.
Definitely make sure they align everything and be careful of that second screw on bottom of outer primary like previous posters said. That system is an absolute b**ch to keep adjusted but I put 20,000 miles on my last belt and it was still in decent shape when I replaced it, so there had to be some prblem with assembly.
I just refurbished my FXDG and went with a BDL enclosed belt drive. I LOVE it. Much smoother than the factory set-up. A lot loghter and better engineered. It was completely bolt-in and I kept all the original parts (rare stuff, may reassemble 100% original if value ever warrants it.

Alright good for you for standing up for yourself.
The man that did the work on my bike is great and has been a lot of help. It has to be hard working on older bikes especially without the correct service manual. I may look to him for some restore help as he restores old bikes as well.
What is a BDL Enclosed belt drive and what does it improve? I will definitely look into it.
Shovel: I saw the pics of your redone bike and it kicks ***. I am working on doing the same for my bike as well. If it ends up as nice as yours I will be tickled.
