Well, I'm thinking that now were into August and all, I'm looking for a winter proect to pass the time, and I seen this. Whatta you all think. Is it worth about that? Would this be a wise thing to look at? I have rebuilt all sorts of MCs over the years, never an old Harley Vtwin though, I know I can handle it and all, that I'm not worried about. I just don't want to get bogged down with alot of issues. I haven't contacted anybody yet. Just wanted to see if this would even be worth a look.

The big problem I see is the broken engine case. Depending on the damage it may be a deal breaker. 68's were titled to the motor. No case no title. You would have to get a builders title and new cases. Cases are available but a 2008 or 9 home construction will not have the value of a 1968. Still it's a fair price.

How badly damaged is the case? It might be worth taking a closer look and offering less than the asking price. Don at HeadHog repairs cases, heads and such and will make them better than factory. He is not cheap but that being said, he took the heads for my 49 EL and repaired them to better than stock.
