Default inner primary cover

Here I go again back to the old shovel. The starter housing holes in the inner primary are stripped out.Debating to try to helicoil or try to find another cover.Any body have any other ideas or a cover?

helicoils should work. My early cover had studs on the inner primary. My later model cover had a front bolt that went from the inside to the housing and a bolt on the outside rear. Maybe you could helicoil the holes then use studs with locktight to hold them.

Yes heli-coils and studs should do the trick with stud lock tight clean the studs and thread in the primary well and there is also a primer for the lock-tight for added insurance they will stay put.
I have studs on my 68, makes it nice to install the housing and start the nuts.
