I know it may sound lame, but is there any way to find out via the vin how my 77 FLH looked when it rolled off the assembly line? I've just started the restoration, and while i've been taking her apart the last few days I just can't help wondering how she started out.
The VIN will give you some info. It will tell you whether it was an FL, FLH, FLHS, Police model or Shriner. 1977 had a rare model called a Confederate Edition, I think they only made 42 of these FLH models, most were Sportsters and Superglides. 1977 was the first year for the comfort flex seat, adjustable passenger pegs and a few other minor changes.
