1980 Wide Glide

I had an 84 FXS (Had a 74 FXE before that)
The 84 was an awesome bike, very few problems.
The Hitachi starter was the weakest link in the chain.
Speaking of chains, I used to lube it with dist points cam lube
(Sticks great) No oil flinging off. Had the chain oiler turned off.
It had Wiseco 9.5-1 pistons, 440 Sifton cam & a Mikuni HS40.
Strong runner. I'll try to find pics to post.

lets say you had the real sifton 440 -- that cam was for engines 86" to 93"
sifton 440/109 performs best in 86” and 93” motors with 4-Speed --
Intake: 32.5/50 262.5 0.440 Exhaust: 58.5/30 268.5 0.440 Overlap: 62
that cam in a stock 74 even a 80" is a dog of a cam - wayyyy over cammed -
I have removed several of them most the #109 it never makes power oh it will run but you never gonna see the power band -- also these cams with long duration need no less than 10:1 cr and lots of cubic inches --
the sifton cobra was the most popular it had #112 on the lobe -- it had a power band of 2500 to 5000 and was good for engines up to 86"
so what one did you have?? the #107 (.440) was a hyd lifter only cam
