Thanks for reply, I have the clymer shovelheads manual, but that only contains how the bike originaly made.

my friend suggested we shold replace the starter relay to a bosch tipe.

I know (thanks for clymer) that my bike should have a factory electronic ignition, but now it has the pointi one, with a plastic cover, you can see through on it. The previous owner said it was becouse once it get ground and the bike stopped. (sorry for my english, if something is not clean let me know and I will find a dictonary)
So I don't want to suck with the points, but I don't know wich tipe of electronic ignition is the best for me. So far dyna dual fire is my favorit...

Why are the circuit breakers are better? I'm not a mechanic, just have the basic skills.

You can use almost any type of starter relay as long as it is wired correctly. Points if timed correctly will give you good service and are easy and inexpensive to replace. The stock style rectangular circuit breakers are better in my opinion, in that they reset themselves once the short is eliminated. Blown fuses require you to carry spares and you may use all your spares before you find the short.

that's what I meant when I was asked advice. These practical advices i need. My mechanic friend /with the 78 FLH) told me the same to the points. He suggested the fuses, becouse in hungary it can be bought in every petrolstation, but nowhere harley circuit breakers.
Anyway my bike has a very do it yourself look, all conections and wires look terrible- probabli this cause the problem with the points-thats why I want to take the whole bike appart, and start to rebuild it from the frame, with new electrical system, gaskets, bearings, and what else is needed.
For example my bike has a wiened rear end with a 150mm wide rear tire, and widened fender (thanks god the frame and swingarm are untouched). It has hayabusa brakes double six pistons at front, and a single at rear, but they worth a piece of s.it , becouse the front master cilinder is stock and the rear is a .50 bmg cartridge. It looks cool, but I cant stop with the bike
