Back to working on the machine........ So its time to order parts stock is 22/51 so i was thinking a 23/50 or 22/50 0r even just 23/51. what differences am i going to notice or stock if any. if i put a 23 on trans with i feel a bit of pull in 4th? in 4th it feels like i need a hill to gain any speed. sorry to beat this again but it is time to put her back together.

with a bigger sprocket on the trans or a smaller sprocket on the back, it will pull less than the stock setup. The guys do this to keep the rpm's down on the highway, but give up some of their power. From the sounds of it, you are lacking power and may have to do some tuning or something.

The stock set up is not that bad but,the biggest problem was that AMF never did a good job balancing anything and by now most of those have been split and re-done.If you are still wanting to change I would not go over the 23 sprocket or it will never leave the stop light before it changes colors!
