starter problems

Default starter problems
i got a 81 shovel,i need help with,,,i just replaced the starter on it ,,,and it seems like it just spins over,,,it kicks out and spins,,,but the small gear that ingauges the clutch ring,,,doesnt seems to turn ,,,it just spins freely on the shaft??? and suggestions

Go and get an new starter drive. Go to a small independent shop and save some $$

Replace the Bendix gear on your starter drive. It's the little gear you described that doesn't turn.
