Default Timing problem

I have a 67’ FLH Shovelhead and have come up with a couple of conflicting manuals about setting the ignition timing. First figure (1) appears to be at TDC or 5 degree BTDC of F cylinder. Figure 2 states that this is 35 degrees and the three manuals indicate either, at 2,000 rpm, idle, or no indication at all. So, my questions are: is the mark with the dot and vertical line 5 degrees BTDC or TDC? Second, it would make sense to me that the second figure would be 35 degrees BTDC at 1500 (single vertical line) or more rpm’s for maximum advance, but all books are not clear on this for the bike. Sorry, site would not allow figures. Figure 1 is a solid dot to the left of the vertical line and figure 2 is just a vertical line. Thanks.

The line is the one you want, that is the Advance timing mark front cylinder. Here is the Service Bulletin from 1969.

Default shovel

Single line on the slab, keep it simple..run it for a bit, pull the plugs..then either advance or retard..nothing, nothing sounds as mean as shovel..

Default Thanks

Thanks for all the info. I set the timing at 35 degrees @ 2,000 RPM, runs great!
