Buy the factory service manual and parts manual. 90% of the work on the bike you should be able to handle yourself with a minimum of tools. For basics get a clutch hub puller that has the end to fit over the clutch pushrod, A socket for taking off the motor sprocket, A sprocket nut wrench for the transmission sprocket, a factory type head bolt wrench and you should be able to handle most jobs.
