I have an 80 fxs. New compu fire 32 amp charging system. New Harley battery. new wiring made it simple. New dyna 2000i ignition.
My problem is that i have burnt up 3 dyna ignition. I’ve checked wiring over and over. Have 3 ohm single fire coil, and new spiral plug wires.
First dyna i installed rode bike for a weak. let bike set for a week and started bike and ignition burnt up. Next day puy new dyna ignition bike ran for about an hour and the second ign. burnt up. On the third ignition not sure but was riding and bike back fired and died. Found n=my new Harley battery was bad. Put new battery and the fourth dyna ignition on bike. Ran bike for a couple weeks no problem then the ignition burnt up again. I have circuit breakers in line for ignition and lights. Dynatek can’t tell me anything and they sent me 2 new ignitions no questions but Iv already burnt one of those up.
Can a regulator be over charging I’ve checked it and when revved it read 14.4. Can it be over charging every now and then
I have no idea what’s wrong I can ride for a week or two and then the ignition goes out
Any advice or suggestions please I’m going crazy with this.
