Trans Trouble Update
Well it was over a month ago I took my trans apart and discoved the mess I had. Of course the more I looked the more problems I found. Welded and cracked primary case bad bearing and starter jackshaft ect ect. So I weighed all the options and decided on Rivera Primo 6 speed conversion with belt drive primary. It took a couple weeks to come in but when it did I was ready or at least I thought I was. I had downloaded the instructions and ordered the offset final drive sprocket. Now the install. OMG... Sprocket splines too tight for trans splines then sprocket hub too narrow to tighten with nut had to make spacer, trans mount studs binding in frame bracket, then engine pulley 1/4" too far out. OK so good thing I have a small machine shop in my barn. Next on the install, put in clutch cable. That's when I found the hole was never threaded. Overcame that time to put in oil. Took out filler plug and found casting had been repaired (poorly) threads have more craters than the moon. Finally fab brackets to mount and move out the left floorboard. Time for first ride. Finally the reward for all the suffering. Clutch has nice feel and smooth as glass engagement. Power pulls real nice through the gears and shifting is crisp and definate. Still undecided on using the stock 24 tooth rear sprocket. Need to do some highway riding. My advice this "kit" is not for the novice or easily frustrated.

Also I suggest taking pic's as you go when ever you hit a fubar and keeping a notebook with what you did and how when you tweak things to fit , it'll save you down the road when it comes apart for something and your standing there looking going " What the fuc did I do here ????? " .
Had to make all kinda tweaks and mods when I converted mine over to rear belt doing it the budget way without stock parts or a kit , several years down the road I had her down fixing some stuff I wasn't happy with from the first time and it was rough figuring out what I done & why so I could make sure the rest of it went right . Made the log book as I went that time ................
