oil sumping?

Question oil sumping?
Buddy has an 84 shovlehead that sumps oil into the primary, any help would be well appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Time to reseat the ball check in the oil pump or you could stretch the spring a bite and try it

When does it put oil out the breather?

It depends when the problem occurs, if it happens after the bike sits for a while, the check ball in the pump is allowing the oil to flow down from the tank.

If it blows oil out the breather all the time, there are other issues.

I noticed he said "sumps oil INTO the primary."
Are you getting a bunch of oil coming from the crankcase vent hose dropping under the bike, or is oil going into the primary?
