Default Newbie Advice needed.

Hello all,

I'm moving up from an 83 Goldwing and I'm shopping around for a bagger on limited funds (4k-6k). While I'd very much like to hear all of your advice, I have a specific question today.

Assuming it is otherwise in good shape and the price is fair, is there any reason I shouldn't buy an 82 FLH?

Thanks!

Short answer...NO.

Pic of mu 6K 84 FLH. Got it about 2 months ago. I am the second owner. Came with 58K original miles and had never been apart.

I agree with Panz. And, if you're used to the '83 Wing's torque curve, just wait till you roll the power on that v-twin. Not necessarily faster, some will say "not better" (but I'm not part of that crowd), but the feeling is entirely different. If it doesn't bring a smile to your face, then I'll owe ya a beer if we ever catch up to one another...

The shovel will take a little more time and care but that's part of the appeal of the bike . Plus like what other posters have said once you actually ride the bike and get used to the " Feel " nothing else will ever do again , it's addicting .

I ride an 81 FLH, and havent had any majors problems with it in the past two years. Take care of the bike and it'll take care of you.
