Fairing questions
I just picked up an 80 FLT. Fairing is already off the bike, and it just has a windshield.
what year fairing will fit? I know 80 was the first year for the rubber mounted engine, so I assume i would need one from 80+? I found one off an 07 street glide on ebay, could that be made to fit relatively easy?

The 1980 FLT had the two-light fairing that attached to the frame, not the front-end - like I am assuming your windshield is. I have heard of people attaching batwings to the FLT...
How easy can it be made to fit? Not sure. You FLT is the great grand-daddy of near every Harley made after it and on the road today - unless there is something jiggy about the fairing (which I, being locked back in the shovel days, would have no idea about), it may be able to be made to fit. As i understand it though, the street glide fairings are attached to the frame too aren't they?
Have fun. You will soon come to realize, if you have not already, that 1980 is a bastard year for the FLT...a lot of one-offs at the MoCo experimented on the customer
