Grinder, I feel sick! I am trying to restore an FXDG. It has 16.500 orig miles but has gone through a bad first and only owner. *^&$%&*! I bought it from him in boxes out of his barn on cape cod. Every rare part found legs and he had the disk chromed. "badly by the way". But anyway great pics and good job.

I signed a while back but had an accident with spinal injury. I'm finally back on and looking for people who have or have dirty hands from the 83 fxdg. I am restoring this bike and looking parts. Maybe share expense to make these rare parts. The rides I have done are 1981 - 85 New York Rendezvous, 1979 - 201 New Hampshire bike week, Daytona 2003 - 2006, and accident that ended that. Bikes owned 1)1974 Yamaha R5 350. 2)1979 Triumph Bonneville 750 3)1978 75th anniversary HD Sportster, 2006 HD Street glide, and now a 1983 HD FXDG Willie G.

I am also gathering the missing pieces for a total resto on my DG. I don't know as much about the DG, but if I can help at all I will.

I'm going to start a new thread for my resto. Just gathering parts now, so the tear down will happen next winter.
