Default seat for 83 flht

Looking for some advice on a seat. I have a 83 flht I want to get a new seat that sits lower in the frame. I found a couple seats on the le pera web site that i like but the pictures they show the seat is on a fx and the seat stops at the tank. I want the seat to go on the tank like the stock seat would. has anybody bought a seat like this or have any ideas. I also plan on lowering the bike about an inch. I was planning on looking for some shocks on ebay do all shocks mount the same way or are mine different. first bike so I'm just learning.
