In short, your gonna be tall geared. Much lower rpm for the MPH. But now you gotta ask yourself if your engine is up to the job. If your motor is stock or near stock it may be too much change. You'll find out after you put it on. If you're having to use the clutch alot more taking off or down shifting going up hills or passing then it's too far.
Or you may just like it! Only 1 way to find out!!

Go 23 / 48 the 24 tooth is not good for the scoot anyway and that combo is my fav for chain shovels . Also keep in mind belt drives change your primary ratios so you can overgear it on the rear with that 24 .
24 engine --- 22 tranny --- 48 rear -- you WILL notice the difference -- also depends on cam, carb, pipes ... andrews cams are ummm ok -- if you can find the old real siftons better -- in a stock 74/80 the cam called shotgun (414) is the best... low lift plenty of duration.. works really well.. myself i have an 80" and i run the leinweber L3S THE best cam ever.. i run belt drive and a 22 and rear is a 47 -- belt drives are like 23 1/2 not 24 tooth...
