I have a quick question
I am rebuilding the oil pump on my shovel, new gaskets and stuff.
Main body and gears are back in place and I only have to install the lock ring on the shaft
There are 2 lock rings in the rebuild kit, one with ears and one without.
The old one on the bike had no ears.
So I was wondering if I can use the one with ears or it would mess something up?
If I need to use the one without ears.. is there a specific tool to install it?
Thanks!
I rebuilt another oil pump about 8 years ago... and don't remember going through this dilemma
lock ring with ears goes inside the cam case--- wont fit on the other end-- the "C" clip use a pick and slip it on the shaft.. if ya dont have a oil light or a gauge be super sure it got oil pressure .. those little keys have a way of moving or falling out..
