any body ever used one of these easy pull clutch things?
.
the manuf said it is installed under the "tranny cover" ?
I'd like to understand how it works?
(OR)
any suggestion/recommendations on how to make the clutch a bit easier to operate.
I have oiled the cable, but after a good bit of intown driving (which is unavoidable) the old, weak, left arm, with tendonitis, starts to ache..damit!
I run the AMP power clutch boxes on three of my bikes very easy to install mounts right under the clutch lever bracket on stock or aftermarket clutch levers Operates on the old mousetrap principle CCI has them P/N 26385 or chrome P/N 26386 I sold alot of these to chicks back in the late 90's I have very bad wrists and these systems work I think it took me 5 minutes to install
What George suggested or install a diagram clutch . Sifton sells one for under $160 and it's a 2 finger pull on a shovel even running the heavier plate & 6 disk clutch plus it take all the stupid out of a shovel clutch , no more dragging or hard shifting when hot .

just a follow up to this note...
My 84 FLH-80 clutch level is not drilled and tapped for the antirattle spring, so I have no means to install the AMP power clutch.
George,
can you tell me what year bikes that you installed the power clutch on, so i can buy a clutch lever that is drilled and tapped ?
thanks,
marion..
i cant follow your link for some strange reason but if your talking about the little $20.00 piece that goes inside the tranny cover then what it does is puts a little longer angle on the end which makes it easier to pull, i know a few people that have them and it does work. they did say that they had to do a bit of grinding inside the cover to get it to clear completely, so check its action before sealing the cover and filling the tranny up. i opted for the MRC easy clutch from harley davidson, it is a whole redesigned ramp and ball kit, thing i paid about $120.00, works as stated, lessens pull by 40%.
my appologies to all..
I have been absent for awhile,, and should have asked my "new" question in a "new thread"....
,
the short story...
I tried an "easy-pull" device, but will not work on my 84 shovel 4 speed, as the clutch cable does not go all the way to the trany.. it terminates on a lever.
.
my follow up question (a few days ago) was regarding a previous post about the
"amp power clutch" http://www.amp-research.com/products...clutch-assist/
.
it mounts in the hole on the clutch lever where the antirattle clip is....and that is my problem,, my 84 clutch level does not have a antirattle clip, so it is not drilled and tapped, so i can not mount the amp power clutch.....
.
so i was wondering what years had the drilled and tapped clutch handles...
.
sorry for the confusion...
