Default Rocker arm shimming

BEWARE!!!! I just got a rude awakening after installing those RAMJETT rocker arm shim kits on my shovel. After reading some posts on another website that said they were garbage, I decided to take them out after just 2or3 heat cycles and apx. 10 miles on the new motor. What I found was one of them was already broken in three pieces! I had to remove the back head and luckily I found all the pieces in the rocker arm box before the things had busted up and went down the oil drain. If YOU are running them in your shovel please take them out NOW. You'll be glad you did!!!

Guess the quality has gone down in the years since I ran 'em. I hada set in my Shovel back in the early '80s (???) and ran aver 100,000 miles with them. Shame 'cause they make getting rid of the rocker clatter easy.

I found that if the clearances are close to spec. the washers will break (too tight). it's not that hard to shim them the right way. the nylon seals in the kit are the bomb though.
