I have a 70 FL and a 73 FX both needed a fair amount of work to be dependable by todays standards. The engines/trans were fine just a multitude of other stuff to repair or rebuild.
And like johnjzjz said originality and overall condition help determine if it's a reasonable price. Hard to say what it's worth w/out seeing a pic.
Like has been stated how close to stock can be important depending on what you are looking for/at. Not a bad price as far as west coast pricing goes.

Couple of things...if you know little about them take a friend who does. Sometimes sellers make claims that are greatly overstated. Ask for receipts for work done as well as service/mnaintenance records. How many prior owners? Are they available/around to talk to.
What about title. Engine and frame numbers need to match (at least as far as Kali is concerned); otherwise it becomes nothing more than a special construction bitsa bike)
