any idea what brand these shocks are?? they are horrible i can compress them fully by hand. the throttle side has an air shrader on the bottom of the reseviour the clutch side does not.
OK before you buy anything you need to know the 80 / 81 FLT ( FLT ) NOT FLH are very different machines VERY DIFFERENT - the parts do not interchange between them
your rear brake issue is the pedal and its return spring and or the adjustment for the travel between them - they made it out of steel not alloy and it is a anvill hanging on the masters control rod making the brakes come on as you drive - then once it cools it works again untill it heats up again and slows the bike to a stop
we see that when the adjustment is off on a normal bikes pedal -- DO YOU have Books for the bike parts and service you will need the FLT books and the flh maybe
You got yourself and real entertaining mix match of stuff there partner , hope your comfortable with tools and figuring things out . Up side is whoever did it had a decent idea just didn't work all the bugs out .
yeah i'm looking forward to fixing this thing up. i'm pretty handy with tools, i've been rebuilding cars for years. after 25 years of redoing aircooled volkswagens i'm used to mixed and matched parts.
i removed the boot and the pushrod from the master cylinder. i noticed there is a clip, washer, and plunger there. the plunger does not come all the way to the washer. it stops about 2mm shy of the washer. there was alot of dirt, mud, gunk in there. i cleaned that all out. wonder if that plunger should come all the way out to the washer??
