Before I even begin I'll say I have a factory service and have troubleshot as best as I could according to that.
I turn gas on at the tank and as far as I can figure the float rises in the bowl and closes the valve. Wait 5 minutes and the bowl will be dripping gas. Not a fast drip but enough that it's clear to me something isn't working right. From everything I've read these bendix units are simple so I must be missing something.
I've installed a new valve, checked for the 3/16' on the inverted float, cleaned the fuel port where the valve mates to it, removed the float and tested it for leaks by keeping it underwater for 15 minutes - no leak.
When you put the float bowl back, did you use a thin tool to rotate the float spring down so that it is inside the bowl and not stuck between the bowl and gasket?
well unfortunately the last time I took the bowl off I tore the o-ring on the main fuel jet so I'm set back regardless.
Upon reassembly i'll definitely ensure the spring is inside the bowl, thanks. Guess thats about all there is to this right? just keep messing with it till it works.
