ok I know -- evo question -- but I need people who know --
I got this 1984 fxrs running -- when I look in the tank is see FOAM -- the lifters pumped up but when I take the return line off (not running) I see foam - I really don't see oil being pumped back into the tank but it sure is foamy -- it has the S&S 2 to 1 oil pump gears -- the S&S steel breather with the screen removed and the hoptop in it - the pump is a S&S pump -
when I took it apart I didn't find that plastic oil separator in the steel cam cover tube -
oil comes out the return when I disconnect and hook up a hose -- nothing but air from the breather vent no oil --
your ok evo has a different breather system in that it is better at lubing everything with a air blown mist -- ( we believe its the distance and the angle in the evo block that cleans the wheels of excess oil in a different way than the older stuff / the plastc oil diverter was not factory installed till the 91 model - and foam returning is they way they work -
shovels like you already know had a solid liquid return till they get hot - than bubbles - if the evo has sumped a bit ( more common than the shovel ) it will liquid the start up but no worrys for me with that - did you go to the dark side NOw did you hahahahahhahaha
