Putting forwards on my '07 FXD, have the factory kit, removed the pri. cover, clutch and primary housing to get the shift shaft out and install new shift arm, Kit DID NOT come with any type of plug to install on the primary housing! Have the plug for the primary cover but thats it! Anyone else had the same issue? If so, please let me know what you came up with!
my factory kit back in 08 came with a brushed little push in bullshit cover that never would stay in past the driveway. left it open. at least youll see when the seal fails and can fix it. there is a thread on here about putting a sleeved bolt in there to stop the gasket from falling from the vibration and causing a leak. i just dont like the look
I pluged the inner primary and used a softail outer primary. I used the tower gast a 1/2 botton head bolt & a lock nut, wish I new about the freeze plugs.
The hole doesn't need to be plugged at all. There should be a foam stick-on gasket that goes between the inner housing and the cover. The hole in the cover can be filled with a cosmetic plug. The hole in the back of the housing can be left open.

My tower gasket sliped twice.
I could have just used a wooden dowel to keep in from slipping. Then I scored a compleate "New" engine chrome kit on ebay for a Rocker for $217 shipped & pluged the hole
