Here's the deal guys. I have an 07 wide glide. Love it.
When 2 up my wife and I are pushing right at the weight limit plus she hates the seat.
We were at the shop and I was really diggin the new softail deluxe. My wife loves the hard candy green which we all know makes it easier for me to get a different bike.
The question that remains is whether or not the deluxe would be better for 2 up that my WG.
I rode an 04 WG 2 up with my wife and we actually toured a lot on it (2000+ mile trips). Strapped a T-Bag to the sissy bar and away we went--bottoming out and less than optimal handling along the way, loving every minute of it. I can only speak from having a Heritage now, you will be a lot more comfortable on the Deluxe, the bike will handle the weight a lot better. Ironically, we had more cool trips on the WG than we have on the Heritage.
May not help, but, I went from a 91 Electra Glide and then a 98 Heritage Classic to an 07 Deluxe and this is the first time the wife actually enjoys riding...
My wife and I are pushing the weight limit on the Deluxe, but she says she likes the ride better than my 07 RG?? Wierd!! We have the bigger pillion seat, and now have a sissy bar. (Not shown).
