Also, how is the soread vs HD high performance?

I'm not a fan of the sealed units people have been buying, seems like they are begging for a failure nightmare on the road if the sealed unit randomly gives up the ghost. And at $399... with only a 1 year warranty. .. NO.
Here's a comparison between the Harley LED on an Ultra (7" bucket) and the DK Custom LED on a Sportster (5 3/4" bucket).

They are not exactly lined up at the same spot in the road, but the HD just kicks ***, but it is 8x's the cost also, so it should.

I keep hearing about the heat produced by the LED plug n plays and thats why they have the fan. Do you need to vent the headlight bucket if that's the case or is the heat build up not that bad?

Common sense would say you would need it to vent because circulating the same hot air in a closed unit does nothing

Headlight buckets are not air tight. Plus the fan pushes the heat off the unit and it dissipates into the air and the actual bucket.

We have only been testing these for about 2 months, but never have felt the bucket get more than a couple of degrees warmer than the metal around it.

It is weird though, having a fan motor going in the headlight bucket. You can def hear it, and feel it, when the engine is not running.

Any thoughts on this one?

http://www.amazon.com/Power-3000LM-6000K-Motorcycle-Headlight/dp/B00PNK0IY0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1426827442&sr=8-2&keywords=sportster+LED+H4 http://www.amazon.com/Power-3000LM-6000K-Motorcycle-Headlight/dp/B00PNK0IY0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1426827442&sr=8-2&keywords=sportster+LED+H4

I'm about to pull the trigger on the DK light but I don't know if I can justify $70 shipped. I know it'll work though if I get theirs.

When you say Harley LED you are referring to the Daymaker headlight correct? Also LEDs use less power and generate less heat then halogens so why the built in fans? Nice headlight comparison photos.
