I am installing Rush Crossover pipes with the chrome slashdown tips but I really want black tips.
Rush does not offer black (nor do they plan on it soon) so I am going to have to find a ceramic coater (Ceracote C?) to make them black.
Has anyone put ceramic directly over factory chrome with good results? I would prefer not to strip the chrome because I want a gloss black finish and the chrome would certainly help with that.
In talking with Rush, they recommend NOT coating the entire tips to ensure a proper fit (see image below).
If You Want It To Stick You're Going To Have To Give It Some Profile...I Think Cerakote Recommends 120 Grit Aluminum Oxide. I See Where You're Going Wanting To Keep The Smoothness Of The Chrome But That Will Guarantee Coating Failure And Will Scratch Easily.
