My advice is don't put them on. V&H pipes are dangerous. The first full lock handle bar turn to the right and you'll come down on the heat shield instead of the floor board bracket causing the bike to want to slide out from under you. I'm a rodeo rider and it happened to me on the first full lock turn on the skill course. They came back off immediately. No more V&H for me. I no longer trust them to build a safe product!!!

Got the same thing going on Buddy... My advice is to take em off before you go down hard. I'm sooo disappointed with V&H.... Their selling a very dangerous product at a premium price with no 'heads up' of the design flaw in their product description!!!

Default Don't know why you guys have had so much trouble

with your setups. Have you lowered your bikes or something like that? I have the V&H Power Duals and regularly scrape the floorboards on corners and have never (and I mean never) has the cross-over pipe ever come close to scaping.
To the O.P.- If your bike suspension is stock then you won't have any issues. It's a relatively easy install. Just remember to use 'ant-seize' on the exhaust studs and use the torque wrench for all fasteners.
I kept the bike on the side stand and it made the whole right side easy to get at too. Took me 3 beers to install. Could have been 5 beers, just can't be sure now.

When I did them on my '15 Limited Low I fought them to the point I swore they were welded wrong or something. Then in an instant they just went right on. It's like the planets aligned.

I do remember the instructions not being the best, that I could have done better without them.

One tip... use zip ties to hold the flanges up to the ends of the pipes, then cut them off with diagonal cutters when done, otherwise you'll need 3 hands.

The other time consuming part was the installing the heat shields - nothing difficult, but getting all those little screws and worm rings lined up was enough to crack open a new beer. Overall difficult rating of 2 on a ten scale. It took about two hours to complete.

A good jack / left is paramount.
it can be frustrating

I bought a set of used Power Duals and the shields where X over cover meets them are badly marred. Is that normal? And will it be noticeable when installed?
