Ok, I know this post is going to have most of you cringing, like fingers on a chalk board, but I have to ask. Does anyone know of an after market manufacturer which makes a touring seat like that of an Ultra Classic Electra Glide for a Fat Boy?
Because this question actually offends me as well I will provide a condensed summary of my situation. My wife likes the seat of the Ultra Classic Electra Glide for obvious reasons. Although I would love to have two HD's I really don't want to shell out the money for a bike which I would use a few times a year. Furthermore, the thought of trading in my FB for the UCEG is not appealing to me personally.
I looked at the tour pak with the detachable rack for the FB offering the higher backrest. However, it doesn't have the barcalounger final feel to it. So I am left with looking for someone who customizes seats and attempting to create a hybrid. This all being said, I have one major requirement of the seat; I must be able to easily take the thing off when I am not on a long road trip and replace it with my Mustang solo sport seat!
Tall order I know. My guess is that I will end up waiting and buying another bike in five years when I have the money.
Any input is appreciated and I apologize for the offensive post.
I feel your pain , my wife wants one of the Ultra seats on my Deuce , not going to happen while I'm still breathing . You might try the HD sundowner seat , I've got one that goes off and on as the wife does . Looks to me to be the most spacious model other that the seat setup on an Ultra . While I don't care for the Sundowner on my Deuce I've seen them on FB's and they match the style of the bike pretty nicely , especiall if the FB has bags and a windshield .
The Ultra seat won't fit your Fatboy based on how it is made. What you can do is find either a used Ultra seat or a damaged one (to the front part that is), buy a used Fatboy seat (off Ebay?) take both to a reliable upholstery shop and have them cut the Ultra seat where the backrest opening is, and attach it to the Fatboy seat. It can be done and it will look okay for its purpose. When the wife is done riding with you, off it comes and the other seat goes on.
I did the same thing with my Heritage Springer, but the passenger seat is seperate from my seat. Found a damaged '06 Ultra seat, did my own chopping and sewing. The wife is happy, happy, happy. She can now go over 10 hours at a time where before on the standard seat she lasted only about 2-3 hours before she was ready to get off.
Well....after looking through a number of pictures, they are all of my bike solo. I'll get some taken today and get them downloaded and sent...probably Mon.

PM me if you need some pics for reference.
